Pavlova is a meringue based dish that hails from Australia/New Zealand (debated). It is commonly eaten during Christmas, which is in summer in the southern hemisphere. Pavlova is typically topped with fresh berries and sometimes kiwi or passionfruit.

Australia and New Zealand’s cultures are similar. English is the primary language in both countries. New Zealand also has a minority language called Maori, it is the indigenous Polynesian language of the country. The predominant religion of both is Christianity although almost half of New Zealand identifies as non-religious.

Pavlova was named after famous Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova who had recently gone on tour in these countries. It was named after her due to its resemblance to her tutu.
